EDITORIAL

Each issue of mix interiors is made up of regular sections covering all aspects of the contract interiors business.

Case Studies

The fluid nature of the contract interiors business means that it is impossible to predict the case studies that mix interiors will publish. One thing is certain – mix interiors will include more case studies, in greater detail than any other magazine. Each in depth case study looks at clients’ business objectives – and how design has helped them achieve their goals.

Recent case studies include:

Billington Cartmell, Cable & Wireless, Cadbury, Castleoak, Cisco Emerging Markets, City of Birmingham Libraries, Cranfield School of Management, Driving Standards Agency, DTZ, E.ON, Edelman UK, Future Electronics, GHD, Gloar LNG, Hill Dickinson, ING Real Estate, Konica Minolta, Leeds Metropolitan University Business School, Microsoft, Severn Trent Water, Siemens, Spreadshirt and Taylor Wessing.

mix interiors works closely with all parties to produce balanced, informative pieces. recent case studies include projects designed by many leading A&D practices including:

Penson Group, ID:SR, MoreySmith, Swanke Hayden Connell, Homuth + Partner, HKS, Pringle Brandon, Gensler, Michael Laird Architects, Careyjones Interiors, MWA+D, Grant Thorp, Scott Brownrigg Interior Design, BDGworkfutures, RHWL, Devereux Architects and John Hunt.

We welcome suggestions for case studies, please contact us to discuss individual projects.

Exhibitions

As you would expect, mix interiors covers the exhibitions around the world that influence our market, as well as detailed analyses of British fairs. Since mix interiors was first published no other British magazine in the sector has devoted more editorial to such diverse trade shows as NeoCon, EIMU, Orgatec, Ofitec, Workplace and the late lamented Spectrum.

We always welcome press releases for our previews and reviews. We suggest that the earlier you send the press release the more likely it is that it will be included. However, to be more precise, suggested latest copy dates are the 15th of the previous month.

Product Features

mix interiors does not produce advertising led ‘product round up’ features such as ‘What’s new in storage’. In our view, such features rarely offer much in the way of editorial insight as they tend to feature those companies who advertise within the article and are therefore less than objective.

Showroom Events

Each issue of mix interiors also includes coverage of showroom events. Often a major part of the marketing mix, launches and parties are valid elements of the interiors scene.

Recent coverage of events by

Pami, Luke Hughes, Nowy Styl, ei2, Connection, Interface, Boss Design, Orangebox, Paramount, KI, 3sphere, Momentum group, Dovetail, Flexiform, Milliken, Tektura, Knoll, Armourcoat, Brunner, Interoffice, Teknion, FFC, Kinnarps, RH Form, Westbond, Kusch, EFG, Quad Contracts, Muraspec, Sedus ,
Techo, Ahrend, Senator, Modus, Crib 5, Steelcase, Workspace Manchester, Bene, Hag, Balma, Elite

Seven Best

‘Seven Best’ has developed into a popular piece in mix interiors. Recent sevens include discussions about Monkeys, Audio Visual, Glasgow, Seven things Barry Davison thinks are best, Swiss cheese, Bars in Brussels, 7 films with the number 7 in the title, Glass, Songs about the office and work, Things to see and do in Poznan.

Guest Columnists

2008 saw regular features from industry commentators with completely different outlooks on life, the universe and everything. Leading marketeer Mark Eltringham, HR Search guru Simon Johnson and former Blueprint editor Grant Gibson are always pithy, generally provocative and definitely worth a read.

Project Mixtures

Our Mixtures pages are a round up of the latest products and projects.

mixology 10

9th June 2010 is without any question the date in the diary. Mixology10 - the mix interiors Awards and Summer Ball. A great summer venue by the Thames, high quality catering, unlimited free beer and wine, awards that don’t drone on for ever and top music (David Morales in 2008) all add up to a massive night.

mixology north

Tickets are already on sale for the north’s big event. 26 November 2009 at Manchester's Palace Hotel will see the third annual Mixology North. 2008’s event hosted over 600 movers and shakers involved in the north’s office interiors industry with all the same ingredients (free beer and wine, quality hospitality , top international djs - This yeah we have none other than chart toppers - UTAH SAINTS!) that make the mixology experience so successful.

See www.mixology-north.com for more information.
