Specifying a wet room project can bring about a multitude of challenges for architects and designers: Schlüter-Systems have launched two products which they believe will make this process far easier.
One hurdle to overcome when specifying flush transitions and level access within the shower area is locating products that are suitable for the project whilst being compliant with building regulations. They must also work together to create a fully waterproof system.
In seeing these pain points first-hand at site visits and discussing them with key players within the architecture industry, Schlüter-Systems have launched two products which they believe will make this process far easier: the Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-G3 drainage system and a low height shower tray within the Schlüter-KERDI-SHOWER-LTS range.
The KERDI-LINE-G3 is a stainless-steel drainage channel which can be fitted without the need for drilling or screwing. It complies with BS EN 1253, providing a 50mm water seal and anti-blockage based on an 8mm ball bearing test.
When the drainage system was launched in early 2020, it was just one part of the puzzle – the next logical step was to introduce a compatible shower tray to allow for level access and full peace of mind.
Many shower trays currently on the market have a fall of 1 in 50, whereas the low height version of the KERDI-SHOWER-LTS has a fall of 1 in 80, making it significantly lower than other solutions and ideal for using alongside the KERDI-LINE-G3. This means that rather than rising 20mm for every metre gradient (as per a standard 1:50 fall), it will be 12.5mm, saving the difference between 20mm and 12.5mm. This equates to 7.5mm every metre, which will be extremely valuable in keeping build-ups low.
A big factor when designing a wetroom is the options available to create the right look once everything is finished. The compatibility of the two wetroom products means that there are plenty of design options available, including the Schlüter-KERDI-LINE drain grates. Available in patterns such as FLORAL and CURVE, many of the grate styles can match to the Schlüter-KERDI-SHELF style, creating a cohesive result throughout, all with the Schlüter guarantee.
Both the KERDI-LINE-G3 and KERDI-SHOWER-LTS are welcome additions to the Schlüter-KERDI family, helping to create beautiful installations that will stand the test of time.
