India Buildings Liverpool by Ward Robinson

Mixology North21 Project of the Year Finalist: Public Sector Interiors

16/11/2021 1 min read

The result of five years’ intense work to create a new regional venture office for HMRC. A Grade II* commercial building, India Buildings has been a focal point of Liverpool’s business district since the 1920s.  From several decades of prominence within the district, the building had fallen into decay in recent years.

Our scheme was split into Cat A and Cat B design. The Cat A design team restored the best of the original building, making repairs to maintain the building’s lifespan, and created the shell for a Cat B fit out. Cat B worked closely with HMRC to create a modern open office environment.  India Buildings has been transformed into a modern office environment, giving the building a new lease of life and securing its future for years to come.

India Buildings comprises nine office floors, heritage ground floor and two basement levels over 300k sq ft for 4,000 staff.
