Sitting under the IHG Hotels & Resorts name, Voco Venice Mestre – The Quid‘s interior sees a mix of natural elements and forms on the inside and outside of the hotel, derived from the Venetian seaside and countryside – the ideology behind the Voco experience.
On the peripheral of the building sits a welcome garden, reinforcing the indoor-outdoor concept. Inside, THDP has transformed a simple transit corridor into something more. The lobby is a fluid space, flowing from the reception dawned with deep blue lacquered wall paneling, brass signage and statement gold lighting overhead, into a bar area with a surrounding restaurant that extends into a lounge garden. The walkway from inside to outdoors is complemented with large scale terrazzo flooring, wood fence screens, blue tiling and an abundance of plants.
As the focal point of the hotel, the bar is contemporary and eye-catching, with a gantry adorned with Venetian glass objects and a rear wall cladded with glossed green tiles and backlit bottle display shelves. Next to the bar area and facing the internal courtyard sits a pool table and retro games area. The colour scheme in the communal areas is inspired by Veneto’s foliage and earthy elements containing rich green tones, carefully married with lighter upholstery and tan leathers.
The hotel’s 128 Standard and Premium rooms continue the earthy colour palette found throughout, with an aerial view of the laguna lit up by glowing sunsets. Like the natural emphasis found within the design choices, guests can have peace of mind that sustainability is on the hotel’s agenda, with LED lights fitted throughout, and pillows and duvets made up from recycled PET plastic bottles.
Designed to be modular and soundproof with streams of natural light within, corporate functions can be hosted within the five meeting rooms available – suited for between 10 and 170 guests for a range of purposes including conferences, exhibitions and roundtables.
In an ideal location for business travellers due to its accessibility to the rail and motorway as well as the airport, THDP‘s calming yet playful interior choices welcomes newcomers to work, relax and play in comfort.
