Trifle* uses colour to define spaces at new coworking hub, Mirror Works

Using a bold and sophisticated palette, Trifle has established the newest Workspace venture as a proud beacon within a fast-evolving East London hub.

Part of an ongoing relationship with flexible workplace provider Workspace, interior designers Trifle* were tasked with devising a local feel to the new location – drawing upon the history and culture from the immediate and wider vicinity.

Armed with ongoing research into how workspaces can and need to function for businesses and individuals, Trifle* used biophilia, industrial details and colour to cleverly define the different working spaces at Mirror Works – a vibrant addition to the Stratford  area which has seen huge amounts  of  regenerative growth since the 90s, and more rapidly since the 2012 London Olympics.

On the ground floor, cool blues set the mood with rich wine tones creating comfortable lounge zones – accented by pops of yellow and green. Textural elements give depth to the scheme – from plush upholstery to acoustic panels – creating a tactile and homely experience. An impressive lighting sculpture and mirrored elements throughout the space pay homage to the  site’s  history as a former Victorian  glassworks  factory, which backs onto the canal with picturesque views of the nearby confluence. Design details include bespoke 100%  recycled worktops  and  carefully curated  artworks  hanging  throughout.  Open plan terraces overlook the canal and  city  skyline, and concrete walls and  terrazzo floors add to a modern feel.

The design of this new-age workspace ultimately encourages much-needed community and  aims to actively  entice  teams  and  businesses  together post-pandemic. A functional landscape for differing  working needs has  been  created, from  quiet  to  collaborative,  plus  comfortable  areas  for  reading,  relaxing and moments to switch  off.

‘We’re delighted to  open  the  doors  to  Mirror  Works,  the  newest  member  of  our  Workspace  family,’ comments Emma Burrows, Centre Manager at Mirror Works. ‘We’ve already seen  fantastic  demand  for  office  space  here,  in  what  is  now  one  of  the  most  thriving parts  of  the  capital.  Mirror Works is  truly  a  celebration  of  the  amazing  regenerative  growth  that  the area  has  seen  and  we  really  look  forward  to  welcoming  some  of  London’s  brightest  businesses.’
