Fringed by palm forests, coral reefs and lagoons full of protected wildlife, the Seychelle’s Platte Island is soon to be home to Hilton signature luxury hotel brand, Waldorf Astoria. With an anticipated opening in June 2023, Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island will boast a prestigious collection of 50 seafront villas, each with a private pool, personal concierge and up to five bedrooms.
Offering a culinary experience with six restaurants and bars, each hospitality setting will source their fruit and vegetables from the island’s garden, supporting Waldorf Astoria’s farm-to-table vision and ‘Travel with Purpose’ commitment. Sourced from a solar field, renewable energy will sustain much of the island’s operations.
“In the two decades I have called remote tropical islands a home, I have never witnessed an island as pristine as Platte Island, nor one so teaming with wildlife,” comments Elias Pertoft, general manager of the hotel. Protected species roaming the waters include manta rays, reef and whale sharks and native Hawksbill turtles who lay their eggs on the island.
The much anticipated opening of Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island will increase Hilton’s Seychelles portfolio to five hotels as it expands its footprint in the area, and will join the list of more than 30 other exclusive Waldorf Astoria venues found in iconic global landmarks.
