Tarkett has restyled its DESSO Airmaster range with new colours and styles to create a cohesive collection: AirMaster Classic, Earth, and Sphere are now available in nine neutral and nine rich colours. With patented technology, AirMaster structured loop pile carpet tiles reduce fine dust in the air four times more effectively than regular carpet and eight times more effectively than smooth floors, creating cleaner, healthier environments. The tiles consist of two main parts: yarn and DESSO EcoBase backing, which come together as seamlessly as they can be separated post-use.
The EcoBase backing has been improved with a new bio-based ingredient, replacing a core ingredient previously composed of petroleum-based content. This marks the next big step in Tarkett’s circular journey. With our updated recipe, we are achieving less than 1kg CO2 per m2 over the entire life cycle. AirMaster Classic, Earth, and Sphere carpet tiles are 100% recyclable and have impressively lower Circular Carbon Footprints of 0.81kg CO2/m2 (vs. 1.36kg), 0.25kg CO2/m2 (vs. 0.88kg), and 0.66kg CO2/m2 (vs. 1.12kg) respectively, which have been achieved without any need for off-setting.
Tarkett has collaborated with BAUX, a world-leading company in sustainable acoustic sound-absorbing products for walls and ceilings, to combine their acoustic wood wool interior products with DESSO AirMaster® fine dust-reducing flooring technology. This collaboration has resulted in a custom colour line that allows walls and carpet tiles to match perfectly, creating a harmonious working environment that promotes wellbeing.
