The Narbutas office furniture showroom in Clerkenwell has been revamped – now featuring nine functional office areas, including the increasingly popular temporary workplaces and relaxation areas, collaboration and meeting spaces as well as an executive workplace. In addition, with every visit from Narbutas partners, its conservation charity partner One Tree Planted will plant a tree, with a focus on biodiversity protection and reforestation efforts.
“The increased mobility and multi-functionality of workspaces, making offices feel like home and the need to communicate and collaborate are the main changes that have affected workspaces,” comments Simonas Savickas, Narbutas’ head of workplace design.
Set over two floors, the spaces features workspaces highlighting both standard and customised furniture solutions, to flexible meeting areas featuring the Arcipelago modular lounge seating and the multi-functional Combus modular shelving system with integrated display screen. Look up, and the PET felt acoustic clouds formed by Acoustic Artwork ceiling provides acoustics and acts as a distinctive decorative element.
“The showroom is reminiscent of our stands at this year’s Orgatec and Stockholm Furniture Fair,” continues Savickas. “These trade fairs were a huge success and received a great response from visitors. We decided to take the concept of our exhibition stands into our showrooms. The showrooms in Chicago, Paris and London no longer display individual pieces of furniture but reflect real situations and functional areas commonly found in today’s offices.”
Narbutas is a fast-growing and international company – all too aware of the impact that its growth and the wider commercial interiors industry has on the environment, says Savickas. “We produce furniture by using only the minimum amount of raw materials necessary and increasing the amount of renewable and recycled materials in our products. We also reduce CO2 emissions from production and recycle production waste.
“Sustainability is one of Narbutas’ strategic directions,” adds Gary Bolton, managing director. “It touches more and more areas, from production to everyday office life. In our latest initiative in the London showroom we are contributing to planting trees around the world – one customer visit to our revamped showroom equals one planted tree, so every one of our customers can be part of this sustainability initiative.”
