With authentic details and textures that look and feel just like real oak, UNILIN Panel’s Master Oak is an award-winning decorative finish that brings the natural beauty of wood in a surface that’s cost-effective, durable and easy to maintain.
Three times as scratch-resistant, more colourfast and more stain proof than real oak, Master Oak’s look and touch lies in a unique technology. Regular oak effect HPL and chipboard faced panels only have around three or four depth levels, but UNILIN’s ‘Timber Touch Technology’ has 64 different depth levels for 20 times more texture. Giving Master Oak the touch of real oak, the technology is also responsible for its natural looking matt finish.
Available in Natural and Light Natural, Double Fumed, Brown, as well as the plain colours of Elegant Black and Everest White, each of Master Oak’s six looks have been created by UNILIN Panels’ in-house design team. Looking towards global trends and exploring how natural wood finishes are used in commercial interiors, they have put together a range of authentic oak looks that are versatile and usable in real world applications – from custom built furniture, shelves and cupboards to wall panels, partitions and more.
UNILIN’s digital printing technology is unique in the industry. A patented coating applied to the digital paper ensures that Master Oak has more colour-play and depth, as well as better sharpness and contrast for a surface that looks exactly like oak. This print technology also allows for the largest pattern in the industry, which means an authentic look and fewer repeats.
For Master Oak, UNILIN Panels uses 100% recovered wood of which 92% is recycled wood such as old furniture sourced from cities and towns surrounding production sites. Using 92% recycled wood is made possible by a machine that sorts the wood, using a mix of processes including magnets, wind sifters and centrifuges to remove impurities. UNILIN Group has invested 30million Euros over the past six years to develop the technology and through using wood that would otherwise have been incinerated, it gives continued life to 900,000 tonnes of recycled wood every year.
