Designed by Fairhurst in 1961, Linley House on Dickinson Street, Manchester has welcomed a £3.5m new refurbishment to provide a contemporary co-working environment across three floors. As well as serviced offices and meeting spaces FDG has refurbed changing facilities, a café and ample breakout rooms.
The space boasts the building’s heritage and a retro colour palette to represent the decade the building was constructed in. Chosen finishes include original style terrazzo features, glazed tiles, ’60’s style pattern and upholstery fabrics, retro light fittings, dark walnut timbers, and anodised metals which all reflect the era of the building.
Built on the site of the 19th century Dickinson Road Power Station, Linley House has a powerful history in more ways than one. In 1963, it served as the headquarters for the North West Electricity Board which served the whole of Manchester at that time. Now powering start-ups and local businesses rather than lights, the 2020 acquisition by Castleforge has seen new life breathed into the iconic Linley House as the home of flexible workspace provider, Clockwise Manchester.
