A concept inspired by the number SIX, Studio Two developed ideas at Six by Nico by using the six legged dragonfly as its muse, honing in on characteristics of the insect’s body form, colour, and natural habitat; as a result, the interior concept is earthy and inviting with high energy and impact that coincides with the exciting food offering. The site is situated a stone throw away from the historic Cardiff Castle, therefore, a locational concept has been brought into the design-thinking to pay homage to this landmark. The core materials of the space are taken from the DNA of the new design identity and overlayed with subtle hints from the locational concept. Joinery items are inspired by gothic arched details and stained-glass screening. Artwork pieces are grand in scale and inspired by traditional murals overlayed with the brand creator’s heritage and timbers are rich in tone and embellished with antique brass hardware.
