April 2019: Issue 193

In this issue

In this issue, we unveil our annual Manufacturer Report. We also travel to leafy west London to take a look at the impressive new home of global brand experience agency, Geometry - and discover far more than we could have hoped for! Nathan Lonsdale tells us about changing culture at Spacelab, Steve Gale talks of learning humanity from the tech firms, and David Thame tells us about the death of the flexible workspace boom. Our roundtable in March focused on the workplace in 2030, and we look towards Canary Wharf for the first time in a long time.

The logo

The logo is inspired by the beautiful, subtle-toned fabrics on display on the cover - we wanted to texture it to complement them. Each letterform has a different weight but is from the same family, with warped form to give it a low-fi cut-out effect.

The cover

Drawing on the close relationship between office layout and emplyee interaction, Forbo Flooring Systems' new carpet tile collection Tessera Nexus, reflects the trend towards connectivity. Featuring a subtle linear base overlaid with a soft kinetic silhouette, Tessera Nexus is a refreshing alternative to the organic styling that currently dominates the carpet tile markert - which, in itself, reflects the changing focus of the workplace.
