Mix Interiors Issue 223 has landed! Our last issue of 2022 marks the end of one year and the beginning of another. We look back at this year’s incredible Mixology North22, with a special spread recounting the finalists and winners, plus highlights from 2022 across people, products and events. We look inside the latest inspiring projects across commercial interior design, from the landmark Battersea Power Station rebirth and MoreySmith’s latest project at 280 Bishopsgate, to the lux W Dubai Mina Seyahi hotel and co-living brand Ark’s first propert in Wembley Park. Elsewhere, we sit down with Goddard Littlefair to celebrate 10 years of the studio, and speak to i/o atelier co-founder Steven Charlton on how data can be used to create more meaningful human experiences. Plus, this issue’s roundtable with Amtico discusses the role build to rent can play in building a community, and we look at the role colour and art play in creating experiential spaces. Thanks to M Moser Associates and Johnson Tiles, who collaborated to create this issue’s Matisse-inspired cover using the tile manufacturer’s Vivid range, creating a colourful ‘MIX’ logo using the bold and straight edged tiles.
M Moser Associates: "We’re thrilled to be involved in this edition’s cover with Johnson Tiles. The primary inspiration is from a Matisse artwork that is very abstract and loose with the placement and arrangement of shapes. The letters to create ‘MIX’ are bold and straight edged which links well with the bold and straight edged nature of the tiles. The lettering is not obvious in the design to intentionally complement the characteristics of Matisse’s artworks."
As its name demonstrates, Vivid celebrates bright colours from burnt orange to deep teal. Effortlessly delivering on character and individuality, Vivid is perfect for brightening a design with its striking colour palette. The detailing of a subtle pinstripe brings this range to life even more.
