Are British-made materials a benefit for designers when sourcing sustainable products? How important are materials and finishes that use environmentally responsible manufacturing techniques, and is this more of a consideration with biophilic design? These are just some of the questions flooring manufacturer Amtico seeks to answer as part of its Young Designer Series.

During the Mix 30 Under 30 celebrations, Amtico caught up with Class of 2021’s George Papadopoulos, Intermediate Architectural Assistant at Perkins&Will, to discover his thoughts on a range of topics; from the importance of specifying local products, for projects in the UK and across the globe, to sustainability ethics and the use of eco-friendly products.

Watch the video to hear more about George’s insights into sustainable specification and his three essential pillars of design.
