The Biophilic Office Project

There is a wealth of evidence to suggest that, by incorporating biophilic design into our built environments, we can increase our health and wellbeing. Biophilic design acknowledges that we are instinctively connected to nature and that, through exploring this connection within the spaces that we live, relax and work in, we can positively influence our physical and psychological health. Union Wharf is a brand-new development situated in Deptford, London. Located on the banks of the lush Deptford Creek, the scheme is split between two towers, with the 22-storey tower featuring one and two-bedroom apartments aimed at a varied demographic of renters.

The smaller 11 storey tower is the first BTR development designed toward the family market and includes bigger apartments of two and three bedrooms. LOFT provided the apartment and amenity space interior design, as well as supplying and installing all furniture and accessories. Drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings, LOFT incorporated features of either deep navy blue or emerald green used in cushions and tailored artwork throughout the apartments, with jewel highlights used in feature side chairs in each living room.

The finishes were kept natural, including wool rugs and walnut and marble tabletops adding warmth and quality to the apartments.

LOFT continued the premium contemporary look within the amenity spaces. Working closely with the client, the design and concept was a collaboration, creating a space that was welcoming and cosy for residents to interact in. With amazing views of the London skyline, comfortable and design-led outdoor furniture was incorporated.
